With a great smartphone, the right lighting (we are all for natural light) and the right photo editing app, you can have your photos looking as stunning as ever.

As you read on, allow me to indulge you as I take you on a journey to discover Lightroom presets which are available on both Android and iOS devices. These presets will add that extra pizzazz to your photos and have people saving a screenshot or two 😉

If you are worried about not having paid much attention in that Photoshop class, worry not. This app is quite easy to use and navigate, offering high-quality adjustment tools that can be used to edit photos by importing a photo from your gallery or taking a real-time photo using the camera option.

Without getting too technical, it’s great to note that the software works with RAW files as well as the native file system offered by your device, (RAW is a format that is commonly used by professional photographers). With this functionality, you’ll get to perform various functions previously only available on the desktop app; including adjusting the grain and white balance, recovering blown-out highlights, accessing the original color data and editing uncompressed photos and distortion. You will also have access to HDR mode that automatically extends the exposure scope, ensuring that your photos have a consistent look throughout. It’s truly a remarkable app that, given some practice will allow you to create fantastic posts.

What are Adobe Lightroom Presets?

Back in 2007, Adobe Lightroom was released and at the time was designed for desktop. Recently, it has gained mass popularity as it is now available on mobile devices; both Android and iOS.

A Lightroom preset simply put is a collection of photo edit settings inside of Lightroom that is bundled into a single click allowing you to edit photos far more efficiently than you would otherwise have to do by repeating those same settings and editing steps one by one. With so many preset options to select from, a great eye and a bit of practice can really take your editing skills to the next level.

Five Major benefits of using lightroom presets

  1. Speed: With just one click, you can apply the preset to your image and if needed edit it as you see fit. You can reset the image as much as you like, so this allows you to go through multiple presets until you’re satisfied with the final edit.
  2. Ease: Some Adobe Lightroom presets were created by professional photographers with their work in mind, so 85-90% of their heavy work has been done, making it easy to use.
  3. Organization: It offers one of the best systems for organizing and managing your photos all in one place. Your original photos are not edited; you simply have to select your desired image and import it into Lightroom for editing. Once you import an image from your Gallery, it is stored in the ‘Photos’ section of Lightroom which after editing is completed, you can choose to; Share, Save to Camera Roll, Save to Files, Open in Edit in or Export Original.
  4. Branding/Consistency: If you create or love a preset, you can use the same one on multiple photos, which creates consistency and a flawless look; which in itself creates a brand.
  5. Variety: Whether you like your photos with a pop of color, in black and white or sepia; lightroom presets have got you covered. With this creative variety, you’ll be able to set the tone for your photos and bring them to life.
  6. Bonus – Improve the quality of your photos: You get to take your photos from mediocre shots to something much more elevated.
